Divinity Original Sin 2 Best Civil Abilities Full If YouKind of exploit) Investing in Sneaking may be usefull if you want to use it in combat (never tried it) Persuation, Loremaster, Thievery and Bartering are the best if you dont use sneaking or barrelmancy.I love loremaster for the info it gives and negating the need to identify stuff in town.Especially with a mage run, a point in loremaster is useful, and you get a lot of info including how much AP they saved between turns with more points. Sneaking is 100 useless, if youre putting points in that youre just wasting them IMO. And telekinesis is fun and all if youre doing the barrelmancy, but otherwise I just see no value in it. I just choose one character to hone in on each of those 4 skills, obvs with my main as persuasion I usually throw a point or two into sneak for my thief, or at the very least get them gear that adds a few points. My thief is usually a rogue, and it comes in handy when Im trying to get my party past any bs. Lore master. While you can identify items at merchants for a price it it better done by yourself on spot and for free. It is also unlocking some quests required being able to read ancient books and tablets. Usually required at minimum level for pi king locks on chests and doors. But if you are considering stealing from NPCs you should max it out. Sneaking. Important for ranger characters, especially for lone wolves, who want a better position for a sniper shot. Somewhat useful for thievery rogues. Bartering. Just keep all gear that gives you bartering and respec one of you characters civil skills into it once you have accumulated bulk of gear to sell or are willing to mass resupply. Telekinesis. Least impactfull, unless you do exploits of barrelmancing. Can be outclassed by teleport spell from lvl 2 aerotheurge, that can manipulate objects, NPCs and character during or outside of combat. More tends to be a waste, but being able to grab things without either teleports or physical contact is just too good to pass up. Listing it first because its a cheap one-point dip on one character but can make a big difference in your play. I tend to roleplay and not want to kill people I dont have to, too, so I usually keep Persuasion as high as I can get it (which in practice means 6-7). Or like, Im the sort of guy who likes having lots and lots of options, so Im always buyingcrafting skillbooks (and short on memory lol). I held on to the Captains set from Fort Joy for way too long for that 2 Bartering 1 Persuasion. Not that Charm Aura as a passive isnt incredibly powerful in its own right.) Loremaster is actually less important in this game than it was in DOS1 I feel; you mostly want to know an enemies resistances and you get those pretty early. AP count is often useful, but for combat honestly a few points enough. You mostly want Loremaster to save on identification costs once you start getting items that need identification.
